Long before I started SHR and had my own hosting, I used to find what ever site I could to upload mixes to and get the music out to the people. One of the trusty sites I favored was www.djpassion.co.uk which let you host mixes for the affordable price of free, but also had a social aspect to the website. Late one night I found myself listening to one of Mr. Lee’s Dj mixes, and not being able to pump it as loud as I would have liked (too late to bump it) I vented my frustration in a comment and since then we have kept in touch. In addition to being one of the best dressed DJ’s to come along since Dimitri From Paris, Michael headed up The Deep House Sessions Radio Show on souljackdigital.com, has cemented residencies in clubs and lounges all over the Chicago area and adds his music stylings to reedits that he then delivers to the dancefloor.
This is going to be a great year for SHR and we are proud to have Michael Lee kick off the guestmix series for 2013. We have some great guests lined up, but this one is a deep, funky and soulful affair…I wouldn’t expect much less. Catch up with Michael in the links below and tell him the Perezident sent ya. My co-host/Partner in crime Justin Reis has been busy at work over the holiday season so you haven’t heard from him much on SHR. That is why I asked him to do a guest mix cause I know you guys miss hearing from him as much as I do, and boy did he deliver! Justin is the man I learned how to cue a record from and has been at the DJ game way longer than myself. This mix is full of deep house goodies some old some new a perfect balance of soul and glitzy house vibes.
