Well there is not much to say about this. I peeled my self off the couch from watching baseball this last Sunday, Jroc3 and I changed our altitude and decided to play some records. At first we weren’t gonna record, but Im glad we did. It started out innocently enough with Justin wanting to just hear some tunes out of my vinyl collection and somewhere along the way turned into a full blown 2hr mix that we vibed out on. Some vinyl gems from the mid 2000’s mixed up with some tracks you won’t even hear for a couple months…if they even get released. To celebrate the 50th episode of SHR, Justin Reis and myself threw down some great old skool house music vinyl. Justin said it best after we wrapped up, he said that was a very humbling DJ experience, realizing how hard we worked for these mixes playing the music we played as we came up. There’s a little beat wrangling tonight, our sync buttons were broke ;) Lots of great tunes, some real gems from the era where if you called yourself a DJ you had to own vinyl records.
I have to take a second out to thank you all for the support over the years, I know some of you remember when we didn’t even have a website and went for 3 hours with Masta Grimes in the mix. We have come a long way, but it’s still my favorite part of the week. I always think about how unhappy I would be if I got to busy to bring you the fresh jams every week, but don’t worry as long as I have a pulse and internet you will get house music pumped to your speakers every week. From the bottom of my heart (and I speak for Justin as well as all our guest DJ’s) thank you for listening, in an era where you can listen to any radio show, album, tv show or movie you choose to spend it with us and we really appreciate it. It’s all House music…what else?

The greatest thing about doing a live show is there is still that nervous element to it still for me. Things go wrong all the time on this podcast, we chug thru it but it feels alot beter when things go smoothly. Tonight was such a night, always a good feeling to get a great mix that takes you on a journey. Tons of stuff from Giano at Tequila Trax. Some great stuff on Jazzy Eyewear’s So Sound Recordings and Umalu including a great tune off of the upcoming Les Loups debut artist album Club Coeur.
